Basically, all sausages are made according to the same principle: a chopped mass of meat, fish or vegetables is further processed into a cohesive sausage meat. The mass is then filled into tubes (usually pork or sheep intestines). Vegan sausage casings are now also available.
The seasoned sausage meat is filled into the hoses using a spout and then twisted and separated into individual sausages in portions.
Bratwurst is usually fried or grilled.
